Castle Gardens, Central Wyoming
The only way to see Wyoming is by driving the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) roads. Thom and I drove more than half the state, from Cody to Rawlings via BLM dirt roads. One day, we started in Ten Sleeps and headed south in search of Castle Gardens. After leaving the foothills of the Rockies, Wyoming flattens out. For most of that drive, there were no other cars, settlements, people...nothing but thousands of square miles of sage. Castle Gardens is kind of a rocky depression and an old Indian gathering spot. The petro glyphs are everywhere in this area. One wouldn't think there is much to take pictures of, but I disagree. There is a rugged beauty out there. And the blue sky is awesome.
