The Wave

After reading about "The Wave", I had to go there. The Wave is a naturally sculpted sandstone wonder. This fragile wilderness landscape is located on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land on the Utah, Arizona border. Because of its fragile nature, only 10 people per day are allowed access. On my visit, it rained, sleeted and snowed while hiking the 3+ miles through sand and slick rock. It would have been nice to have blue skies to contrast the pink and red sandstone, but the deffused light brought its own benefits. Of the 160 images taken during the visit, I've printed only six of my favorites. They hang in our rec room. If you order any of these prints, I suggest ordering 8x10s or larger. Mat and frame them and you'll have very interesting wall decor. My favorite is the one called "Reflections". At first glance, the shiny object in the lower left center appears to be a pile of sand. It is actually a water pool reflecting a part of the Wave not in the frame.
